Parts We Carry
Most garages in Westlake Village went up around 1974, and the doors that came with those houses are steel sectional doors on steel track, hung with steel rollers riding in steel ball-bearing or plain-bearing hubs.
Heavy two-car rollers
That's a wide, heavy panel for its era - these were built as two-car openings more often than not, which puts real weight on each roller stem. Steel rollers were the standard fit then, and fifty years on, most of what we pull out is original or a steel replacement from a prior owner, worn oval instead of round, chewing up the track edges as they go.
Nylon and steel types
We carry two roller types on the truck: 10-ball nylon rollers with sealed bearings, and steel rollers for doors where the track geometry calls for them. Given the age and value of housing stock out this way, most owners choose nylon - quieter, no lubrication needed, and they don't wear the track the way a pitted steel roller does.
Stem lengths and hinges
We stock stem lengths and roller sizes to match standard residential track, not just whatever's on the shelf. We also check hinges and the track itself while we're in there, since a track bent from a worn-out roller riding sideways for years is a separate problem from the roller alone.

The Cost of This Job
We don't publish a flat number for roller replacement here because the job scope depends on how many rollers have failed, whether the track needs straightening or swapping, and whether nylon or steel is the right call for your door.
Full-set roller cost
A full set on a double door costs more than a couple of rollers on a single - that part isn't specific to any one town. What is specific to Westlake Village: median household income in the service area runs $93,554, but Westlake Village itself runs closer to $174,069, and the 1974-era doors out here tend to be the larger double-door style rather than the smaller single bays common in older tracts.
Roller count cost driver
That means more rollers per job on average, which is the main driver of cost difference between neighborhoods, not labor rate. We'll give you a real number after we look at the door and the track, not before.
Track condition cost impact
If the rollers are shot but the track is straight and the opener's fine, this stays a small job. If the track's bent or the door's sagging from years of steel-on-steel wear, we'll tell you that too, and it changes the price.
Can You Do This Yourself
A single bottom roller swap on a door that isn't under spring tension is within reach for someone comfortable with hand tools - you unbolt the hinge, slide the old roller out, slide the new one in.
Top roller spring proximity
Top rollers and anything near the spring side of the track are a different matter, because you're working close to a wound torsion spring, and on a 1970s door that spring has had fifty years to fatigue.
Multiple worn rollers
What we see most in Westlake Village is a homeowner noticing one loud or jumping roller and finding three or four more worn when the door comes down.
Roller jack for multiples
If you're swapping more than one or two, or any roller near the top of the track, that's when a second set of hands and the right roller jack earns its keep. We won't talk you out of the easy ones. We will tell you straight when the job has moved past that.
How We Fix It
We come out from Ventura, which puts Westlake Village at the far edge of our regular run - about 29 miles - so this isn't a same-area stop for us the way it is for towns closer to the shop. We schedule the trip, not a walk-up visit.
On site, we run the door by hand first to find out how many rollers are actually bad versus just loud, check the track for bends or gaps where a roller's been riding off-center, and replace rollers one side at a time so the door never comes fully off track. If nylon rollers are the right call for your track width, that's what goes in; if the track geometry needs steel, we use steel. We lubricate the new rollers, check hinge wear while we're there, and run the door through a full cycle before we call it done. If we find the real problem is a bent track from months of a bad roller grinding against it, we'll tell you before we quote the fix, not after. See our roller replacement page for the Ventura service area or our Westlake Village service page for more on what we cover out here.
